I've got a headless server running Ubuntu Gutsy Gibbon. I keep a vnc server running on the box for remote admin but recently it seems that when the vnc server is running (but no hosts connected), the rest of the network slows to a crawl. I kill the vnc server and the network speeds up. I would like to keep the vnc server up and running. any ideas on reducing the bandwidth the vnc server is using?
