Dell printer not compatible w/ print server?

I recently purchased a Netgear® PS121 1-Port USB Mini Print Server and I followed all of the instructions that were provided and still cannot get the installation to succeed. I am very frustrated. Is my printer not compatible with this print server? any help would be greatly appreciated. I would love some help. Is there some free software or drivers that I could download to use with my print server that I recently purchased? I have a dell color laser printer 1320c

Check the setting on your router, and all firewalls.

I had the same problem and found that the print server protocol was being blocked by both the Windows firewall, as well as my routers hardware firewall. Once these were enabled to allow the protocol to be used, everything worked fine.

Had to hunt for these, so you may have to look around a bit in the setup programs for the firewalls.

One was a matter of just checking a box to enable use.

The other was excluding the protocol from being blocked by the firewall.
